I am determined to make 2018 the best year ever! In order to help me make that happen I have decided to make a new vision board and, for the first year ever, pick a word of the year.
I have made a vision board before, but never one for a specific year. I decided that this year has so many big stressful things going on that I needed a daily reminder of why I am doing what I am doing and why I am working so hard. I decided to choose six images that I felt best represented my goals and hopes for 2018 and put them on my vision board.
All I did was go on my Pinterest (https://www.pinterest.com/thisfortunatefamily/pins/) and find images that represented what I want my 2018 to look like, printed them out and taped them up above my desk in a sort of mini-collage type of way. And I LOVE how it turned out. It is not too much, and it will remind me everyday of what 2018 is going to bring me.
This is my biggest goal this year. I need to make more money than ever in 2018. I have big plans for my family and those include getting out of debt within the next two years, planning a move, and starting to save money to start having kids. In order to achieve these goals it is imperative that I bust my butt and make as much money as possible.
One of my big goals for the year is to create a daily workout routine that I can actually stick to. I would love to get down to a goal weight between 145 and 150, that is what I weighed when I was working out consistently and felt confident in my own body. In order for that to happen I have to change some eating habits, work out more and get rid of my extra weight.
2017 was one of the most stressful years I have had and I definitely was not taking time for myself to just relax and breathe. I want 2018 to be the year where I really change that and take time for self care.
The beach represents my hometown. We currently live about two and half hours away from home and this summer we are moving back. I am very excited to move back and be close to family, but I also am working on enjoying our time left here in Vermont, because we will never be surrounded by the beauty that this place has to offer back in Massachusetts.
In 2018 I am committed to spending more quality time with my husband and working to improve our marriage. I want to learn more, love more, and laugh more with him so that when we go into 2019 we are feeling better than ever and ready to tackle the big life changes that we are planning.
This year my husband and I are seriously talking about and starting to financially plan for our first baby. This is something I have wanted for a long time and everything on my vision board has something to do with our wanting to start a family.
My 2018 Word of the Year
I have decided that the word that would best describe how I need to go about this year is focus. I need to stay focused, keep my head down and pump out more work than ever before. If I focus all my attention on my six categories in my vision board, I can make all my dreams and goals for the year happen.
